Privacy Policy
Belzo ("we", "us") is a hyperlocal quick-commerce delivery service. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Belzo app, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account through our authentication provider, Clerk.
- Phone number and delivery addresses. You provide these so riders can reach you and deliver your order.
- Location. With your permission, we use your device's precise location while the app is open to find the nearest dark store, confirm you are inside our delivery area, and autofill your delivery address. We do not collect location in the background.
- Order information. Items you order, prices, payment method (cash on delivery or online), order status and delivery history.
- Device and usage information. Basic technical data such as device type, operating system version, app version and crash logs, used to keep the app working.
2. How we use information
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To process, pack, dispatch and deliver your orders, and to let you track them in real time.
- To contact you about your order, including by phone, SMS or in-app notification.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.
- To improve the app and fix problems.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Who we share information with
- Delivery riders and store staff see your name, phone number, delivery address and order contents, only for orders they handle.
- Service providers that run our infrastructure: Clerk (sign-in), Supabase (database and storage), Google (sign-in and push notifications), and payment processors for online payments. They process data on our behalf under their own security commitments.
- Authorities when required by law.
4. Data retention
We keep your account and order history while your account is active, and for as long as needed for accounting, tax and dispute purposes (typically up to 7 years for transaction records under Indian law). Location data is used in the moment and not stored as a history.
5. Your choices and rights
- Location. You can turn off location access in your device settings at any time. You can still order by entering your address manually.
- Notifications. You can disable push notifications in device settings.
- Access, correction and deletion. You can edit your profile and addresses in the app. To delete your account and associated data, visit belzo.in/delete-account.html or email us at the address below. We will complete deletion within 30 days, except for records we must keep by law.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Access to customer data is restricted to staff and riders who need it for your order. No method of storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
Belzo is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed. Material changes will be announced in the app.
